60 minute Spitfire Flight from Sywell

The Grace Spitfire ML407 was originally built at Castle Bromwich in early 1944 as a Mark IX single seat fighter and served in the front line of battle throughout the last twelve months of World War II with six different allied Squadrons of the RAF’s 2nd Tactical Air Force. ML407 flew a total of 176 operational combat sorties amassing an impressive total 319 combat hours. ML407 was delivered to 485 New Zealand Squadron on the 29th April 1944 by Jackie Moggridge, one of the top lady pilots of the Air Transport Auxiliary (ATA), where it became the ‘mount’ of Flying Officer Johnnie Houlton DFC who was accredited, whilst flying ML407, with the first enemy aircraft shot down over the Normandy beachhead on 6th June D-Day. Thanks to The Blades Aerobatic Display Team, your guest will be flown in formation with the Spitfire in one of their high performance Extra 300 aircraft for approximately 10 minutes. If they wish, they can explore the outstanding capabilities of these aircraft on their return to the airfield. Fly Alongside flights are £659 per person Please contact us for available dates. After your flight, they are welcome to get up close to the aircraft, take photos and meet the pilot. This flight takes place at Sywell Aerodrome in Northampton. There are fantastic facilities available on site including the Art Deco Aviator restaurant, serving food & drink throughout the day. The Aviator Hotel offers accommodation on site should you wish to travel the day before or after.

Cancellation Policy

SPITFIRE / MUSTANG / BUCHON Should you wish to cancel your experience, please call us on 01604 624 058 as soon as possible. Each situation is treated on a case by case basis; however, should the flight be cancelled by you, with no valid reason, less than 14 days before the flight and not rebooked, an admin fee will apply. Should the flight be cancelled by us due to unacceptable weather, serviceability or other unforeseen circumstance (e.g. COVID 19) and you do not wish to rebook, a full refund less the 10% booking fee will be available 3 working days after the cancellation. Should the passenger arrive on the day and we cannot fly them due to an undeclared health issue or incorrect measurements on the Health and Statistics form, an admin fee will be retained. All prices include VAT and invoices will be provided at the appropriate time for payment. There is the option of transferring your ticket to someone else providing they fit the health criteria. This can be done at anytime up to 1 week prior to booked date of your experience and is free of charge, please notify us of the new passenger and their contact details as soon as possible. Onward sale of tickets for profit or gain is not permitted and if suspected, the ticket will be cancelled, and no refund will be given. It is not possible to auction your ticket for charitable purposes. TIGER MOTH If your flight is cancelled by you more than two weeks before the flight, a full refund less a 10% admin fee will be provided. If less than two weeks before with no valid reason, no refund is given. Full T&Cs available on request.
